- Radiant Marks Major Construction Milestone for Kaohsiung Advanced Technology R&D Center
Radiant Opto-Electronics Corporation (TWSE: 6176) today marked a major construction milestone for its Advanced Technology R&D Center in Kaohsiung Cianjhen Technology Industrial Park, signifying steady progress in the development of the new facility. The center is expected to be completed and commissioned in the third quarter of 2027.
As a strategically significant innovation hub for the Group's future development, the center is expected to drive the advancement of nano-scale optical technologies, create new value for both the Group and Southern Taiwan's technology ecosystem, and generate approximately 300 new R&D and technical positions upon completion.
In recent years, Radiant has continued to strengthen its research, development, and manufacturing footprint in Taiwan. In addition to the Kaohsiung R&D Center, the company is also developing a semiconductor cleanroom facility in the Chunan Science Park. Together, these projects represent a total investment exceeding NT$13.3 billion, underscoring Radiant's long-term commitment to advanced technology development, local talent cultivation, and sustainable growth in Taiwan.
"The Advanced Technology R&D Center is more than an expansion of our infrastructure. It represents a key strategic investment in strengthening our integrated capabilities across research, validation, and manufacturing," said Justin Wang, Chairman and President of Radiant Opto-Electronics. "As the project enters its next phase, we will continue investing in advanced technologies, talent development, and smart manufacturing to enhance our global customer support and product innovation capabilities."
Connecting Innovation and Manufacturing to Advance Wafer-Level Optics and Sustainable Operations
Ground was broken for the Kaohsiung Advanced Technology R&D Center in July 2024. The facility occupies a site area of 6,619 square meters and is designed as a six-story building with two basement levels.
The center will focus on submicron process and optical component development. Leveraging nanoimprint lithography as a core technology platform, Radiant will integrate molds, materials, and mass-production processes while combining the technological strengths of its overseas subsidiaries. This integrated approach will accelerate the commercialization of next-generation optical technologies and expand the company's presence in wafer-level optics and semiconductor-grade optical components.
