Radiant Opto-Electronics Corporation incorporates environmentally friendly practices into its product development and design process from the very beginning. This includes the use of low-pollution materials and the reuse of recycled content. Whether by reducing the use of hazardous substances during manufacturing, improving energy and resource efficiency, minimizing waste generation, or strengthening pollution prevention efforts, the company takes comprehensive consideration of the environmental impact throughout the entire product life cycle. Even after products are shipped, a complete packaging recycling mechanism is in place. Radiant Opto-Electronics Corporation works closely with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to pursue more sustainable business development together.

Recycling Packaging Materials

"Packing recycling" has always been a management priority in the Corporation's green initiative. We were able to achieve our goal of a high recycling rate for packaging through effective communication with both suppliers and customers. In 2024, the packaging material recycling rate exceeded 98%.

 

 


Use of Recycled Raw Materials

Radiant Opto-Electronics Corporation is transitioning from a linear economy model to a circular economy model to achieve the reuse of waste resources. This transition involves using technology to give new value to waste materials, and by increasing the utilization rate of recycled materials. By reusing recycling, the earth's limited resources can be sustained, thereby reducing the impact on the environment.

The backlight module produced by our company is composed of optical-grade plastic pellets. To preserve its optical qualities, the use of recycled raw materials is not feasible. However, it is possible to utilize recycled raw materials that can be used in other stages of the production process. The Wujiang plant produces its own vacuum-formed boxes for product packaging and utilizes damaged vacuum forming boxes that are used as recycled raw materials in the manufacturing process. According to statistics, a total of 534.7 metric tons of secondary materials were added in 2024, with a secondary material usage ratio of 36.66%. The Company has consistently met its annual targets, ensuring efficient management aligned with its sustainability goals. Furthermore, by reducing the use of new raw materials and implementing internal recycling, we aim to achieve resource reduction objectives.

 

 


Transportation Optimization

Radiant Opto-Electronics Corporation has been optimizing its Shipping Methods and following three principles when it comes to shipping: combined shipment, full shipment, and recycling materials to be collected by collecting them through returning vehicles. The aim is to minimize greenhouse gas emissions during the shipment process. Through regular review meetings, the Company has enhanced control over Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions from product transportation. In 2024, the dedicated vehicle load rate exceeded 98%.
