Green Product Management
Radiant Opto-Electronics has implemented the Hazardous Substance Management System QC 080000 to ensure that our products comply with EU regulations on restricted substances in electronic products (such as the EU RoHS and REACH chemical regulations) and global chemical control standards. We have established the “Radiant Opto-Electronics Environmental Substance Management Specification” as the standard for managing banned/restricted chemicals in the supply chain, strictly controlling all products, components, and materials to meet international and customer requirements for Hazardous Substance Free (HSF) products. Moreover, Radiant Opto-Electronics has introduced a digital platform, GPARS, to establish a comprehensive management system for materials free of hazardous substances, enhancing our control over source materials. To promptly respond to the latest international standards and regulations, the Quality Assurance unit at Radiant Opto-Electronics conducts monthly reviews of international conventions such as the EU RoHS and customer environmental requirements. Any changes in banned or restricted substances are recorded in the “Environmental Management System Regulations and Customer Requirements Regular Review Table.” In 2023, the types of controlled substances at Radiant Opto-Electronics reached 179, with 90 substances under observation and 235 substances being monitored.
Conflict Minerals Declaration
The “Environmental & Substances Management Standards” established by Radiant Opto-Electronics Corporation strictly prohibits the use of conflict minerals in our products. Additionally, we regularly investigates the sources of metals used by our suppliers to ensure that the high-risk metals, such as gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), cobalt (Co), and tin (Sn), tungsten (W), cobalt (Co), palladium (Pd), or other minerals sourced from illegal mining areas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or its neighboring countries, as well as timber, paper, and other plant-based products derived from tropical rainforest materials, are not used. Should it be discovered that a supplier’s components contain conflict minerals, necessary actions will be taken, and their use will be immediately discontinued. As of the end of 2023, there have been no incidents of noncompliance with the above statement regarding conflict minerals. Moving forward, Radiant Opto-Electronics will continue to monitor this issue, aiming to mitigate the impacts of mineral-related issues and continuously meet regulatory and customer requirements.
